Arabica coffee beans come from the coffee species “Coffea Arabica”. They are used to make 75 to 80 percent of the world’s coffee supply. Arabica quality is one of two major varieties of coffee worldwide. Arabica beans are used to produce coffee on their own or are blended with other varieties of Robusta. Arabica beans were brewed in East African and Arabia before being introduced to Europe and America in the 17th century.

Robusta coffee is the trade name for Coffea Canephora, a coffee species that makes up about 20-25% percent of the world's coffee production. Though the beans come from plants that are more robust than arabica plants, they produce coffee that is less flavorful and higher in caffeine.
